The practice was founded on the 31st August 1988 with the founding of Ashdale Veterinary Clinic. In December 1992 OakBeck was opened, representing the first Veterinary Hospital in North Yorkshire.

We have been invovled in the training of Veterinary Nurses since 1990 and Veterinary Students have "seen practice" since 1989.

As well as raising money for UK pet charities, the practice supports and sponsors children in some of the most deprived areas of the world and supports the work of water aid. Bob Partridge has raised money for both Heart research and Cancer Research when running the London Marathon (in 2001 & 2009).

We support our profession. The practice team are members of BVA, BSAVA, SPVS, VPMA, BVHA, EVS, BVDA, FAB to name but a few. Bob Partridge was a founder member of the British Veterinary Dental Association and has served on BSAVA & BVA, he is a past president of the Veterinary Hospitals Association and is serving a second term having been re-elected as a council member o th eRoyal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). Anne Blackburn is also a council member of the Hospitals Association.
